Wim Jongen, Chairman of the Board
Wim Jongen serves as chairman of the supervisory Board of Pepscan. He is partner of the Westertoren Innovation Center, a private incubator located in Den Bosch, which builds, guides and finances starting and early stage companies in the Life Sciences. Prior to that he served as the CEO of the Wageningen Business Generator, the technology transfer unit of Wageningen University, and was Board Member of the Animal Sciences group in Wageningen. Jongen also was professor in Food Technology at the Wageningen University. He holds a PhD in Toxicology from the same university.
Cees de Wolff
Cees de Wolff became a member of the Supervisory Board in 2007. De Wolff is a venture partner of Lupus Ventures. He graduated from the Open University of Groningen, where he studied business and management. Since 1993 De Wolff is Member of the Board of De Wolff Verenigde Bedrijven in Heerenveen, a group of mid-sized companies, where he is responsible for the business units Wind Energy and Ventures. Earlier in his career De Wolff has been involved the set up of new companies in the Far East and held various marketing, sales and management positions of increasing responsibilities at different companies. De Wolff holds several other supervisory board positions, in life sciences as well as in the financial services.
Ronald Lorijn
Ronald Lorijn (MD, PhD, MBA) joined the company as a Non-Executive Director in May 2010. Previously, Dr. Lorijn was Chief Executive of AMT NV (Amsterdam), having developed AMT from a small, one-product operation into a leading therapy company listed on the NYSE Euronext. Prior to AMT, Dr. Lorijn was with Amgen, where he was part of Amgen Europe’s executive management team and responsible for its Business Development, Clinical Operations, & Governmental Affairs. Before joining Amgen he was Chief Medical Officer and Senior Director of Clinical Operations & Medical Affairs, Europe at Centocor, and head of worldwide Medical Services and Product Surveillance at Organon. Dr. Lorijn graduated from the Radboud University Nijmegen, completed a Ph.D. and was a certified obstetrician/gynaecologist before joining the biotech industry.
Jan van der Hoeven
Jan van der Hoeven became a member of the Supervisory Board in 2007. Van der Hoeven graduated (cum laude) at Wageningen University and specialized in water quality, water treatment and toxicology. For 6 years he worked as a scientist at Wageningen University with emphasis on the relation of food and cancer. He has over 30 scientific publications and was awarded the EEMS Young Scientist Award in 1985. In 1983 he co-founded an internationally operating CRO in the field of safety and environmental research for which he became fully responsible in 1988. Since 1988 Jan van der Hoeven is active with his own portfolio of numerous Life Sciences companies in which he is actively engaged as member of the investment committee or member of the supervisory board. In 2003 he received the price for entrepreneurship from Wageningen University.
