Adaptive immunity keeps us alive thanks to its unique ability to recognize and kill pathogens. Adaptive immunity is orchestrated by B-cells and T-cells carrying antigen-specific surface receptors, which recognize linear and conformational elements (epitopes) of the pathogen’s structure. Pepscan has already developed a proprietary array-based platform reliably profiling epitopes of antibodies and antibody-like molecules (incl. IgG, IgE, IgM etc.). Our epitope mapping service has now been expanded with T-cell epitope mapping. The main challenge in T-cell epitope mapping is the low frequency of antigen-specific T-cells.
This challenge can be easily addressed epitope mapping with ELISpot, as it rapidly quantifies T-cell responses at the single-cell resolution.
